§ Effortless to design

Crowns that practically seat themselves.

01

Perfect Margins

Spot-on precision that eliminates manual adjustments.

02

Natural anatomy. Every time.

Patient-specific crowns designed uniquely for each case — never from a generic library.

03

Built for dentists, not CAD technicians.

Atomica was created for chairside use, with a clinic-ready interface.

04

Guided by default. Overridable in one click.

Wizard mode walks you scan-to-seat. Expert mode opens every parameter — margin, gap, contacts, occlusion — so power users own the design end to end.

§ Why patient-specific matters

Not a library tooth. Their tooth.

Legacy CAD pulls from a library of generic morphologies — a stranger's tooth scaled to fit. Atomica generates anatomy from the patient's own contralateral and adjacent teeth, every time⟦1⟧.

§ Prevention, not rework

Stop remakes before they happen.

Three validation passes — at ingest, before export, and before cement — catch the issues that turn into remakes, adjustments, and patient call-backs. Built on top of the proposal, not bolted on after.

◇ Pre-designCheck 01

Margin verification

Every finish line is traced and visually confirmed before anatomy is generated. Ambiguous regions surface for a one-click review — not a remake call three weeks later.

Catches 96% of unreadable margins at scan ingest

◇ Pre-exportCheck 02

Occlusal clearance check

The proposal is validated against the antagonist arch. If clearance is below your minimum thickness for the chosen material, the AI relieves and re-solves — before you export.

Zero sub-tolerance exports across 2,140 chairside cases

◇ Pre-cementCheck 03

Contact tightness flag

Interproximal contacts are measured against your light/medium/firm preset. Anything outside tolerance is flagged with a colour overlay you can adjust before milling.

Cuts post-seat contact adjustments by 71%

§ The AI works the way you do

Set your defaults once. Atomica respects them, every case.

Atomica is configurable, not opinionated. Your tolerances, your tooth library, your design philosophy — encoded once and inherited by every AI proposal. Per-dentist, per-chair, per-indication.

◇ Your numbers

◇ § 03 · Workflow anatomy

Anatomy of a 4-minute crown.

Five steps from intra-oral scan to production STL. No black box — every decision is inspectable and overridable.

  1. 00:00Step 01 · Ingest

    Scan ingested

STL or PLY drops in from any chairside scanner. Atomica auto-orients the arch and identifies the prep tooth.

  2. 00:12Step 02 · Detect

    Margin detected

AI traces the finish line — even subgingival — and flags ambiguous regions for a one-click review.

  3. 00:45Step 03 · Propose

    Crown proposed

Patient-specific anatomy generated from the contralateral and adjacent teeth. Occlusion, contacts, emergence — all in one pass.

  4. 01:30Step 04 · Refine

    Contacts adjusted

Tighten or relieve interproximal contacts and occlusion with a slider. The mesh re-solves in real time.

  5. 04:00Step 05 · Ship

    STL exported

Production-ready file sent to your printer or mill in the format it expects — no conversion step, no swivel-chair handoff.

§ Voices from chairside

Trusted by forward-thinking dentists.

Zero adjustments
The most accurate crown design I've seen. It dropped onto the prep with no occlusal adjustment — the patient was out in under 40 minutes.

I used to outsource every crown. Now I design chairside while the assistant preps the next patient. My crown volume more than doubled — and a new associate was productive in his first week.

§ Honest answers

Clinical questions, answered.

The questions dentists actually ask before sending their first case. No marketing fluff — if there's a trade-off, we name it.

Does the AI handle bridges and cantilevers, or only single units?

Single units, 3-unit and 4-unit bridges, screw- and cement-retained on implants, inlays, onlays and veneers. Cantilever bridges are supported with an explicit confirmation step — the AI flags the unsupported pontic and asks you to acknowledge the strength trade-off before export.

What scan quality does it need? Do I have to retract?

Any clean chairside scan with a clear margin will work — STL, PLY, OBJ from 3Shape, iTero, Medit, Primescan, and others. Retraction is not strictly required, but the AI's margin detection is only as good as the visible finish line. For sub-gingival margins, single-cord retraction or laser troughing is recommended; we surface a margin-confidence score so you know before exporting.

Can I override the AI proposal mid-design?

Yes — Wizard mode walks you scan-to-seat with sensible defaults; Expert mode opens every parameter (margin, cement gap, contacts, occlusion, cusp morphology) for direct edits. The mesh re-solves in real time. There is no "sealed proposal" — every decision the AI made is inspectable and overridable.

What happens when the AI is wrong?

Two safety nets. (1) Pre-export validation flags margin, occlusion, contact, and minimum-thickness violations against your tolerances — exports are blocked until resolved or explicitly overridden. (2) The AI never deletes or hides your scan data; you can always revert to the raw scan and re-propose with different parameters or fall back to manual design.

Is my patient data used to train your models?

Only with explicit opt-in, fully anonymised, and never with identifiable images or identifiers. EU clinics: data processing complies with GDPR; you can disable training contribution per practice. Models retrain quarterly on the opted-in corpus only.

Mill or print — which should I choose for which case?

Mill for final restorations in zirconia, lithium disilicate, or PMMA where strength and surface finish matter (posteriors, bruxers, long-span bridges). Print for permanent ceramic-filled resin restorations, chairside temporaries, surgical guides, and high-volume same-day workflows. Atomica designs once and outputs the format your chosen path expects — no separate file, no swivel-chair handoff.
