General Design Tools



Smart Model Repair

If your model contains holes, Atomica will display a prompt to repair it before filling. Click Repair to let the software automatically fix the model. This ensures a clean surface and prevents errors before continuing with the workflow.

Selection tools

First, make sure to select the right model by clicking on it and making sure its label is highlighted. Then choose select. There are multiple selection tools you can use according to your preferences and needs:

Brush tool:  Draw directly on the model using the mouse. You can change the brush size using the mouse scroll or changing its radius. To unselect parts, keep pressing Ctrl while moving on the selected parts. You can then choose the operation you need to do for the selected parts.

Lasso Tools: There are multiple lasso tools to choose from; make sure to click Enter once you finish placing the points.

Teeth segmentation  The first time you choose this tool, the teeth will be segmented separately. You can then mark a tooth or more. Choosing delete and fill will simulate the extraction site.

**Invert selection by pressing the letter “I”

** Below the screen, you will find an info bar that will always guide you through the procedure.

Cropping tool

Select the cropping tool and choose between various cropping methods. To crop and fill the model, it has to be watertight, meaning that it has no holes and no shells.

Plane cut

A cropping tool based on planes. You can keep both parts or only one of them. You can also fill out both of them or only one. To invert the selected part, click “I” 

Wireframe Mode Toggle

  • Press W to switch between solid and wireframe views.

  • Wireframe mode works even if the model contains holes.

  • Use this view to inspect complex geometries and internal structures more easily.

2D Snapping with Measuring Tool

  • First, activate the Measuring Tool.

  • Hold CTRL while measuring on 2D slices.

  • Mark two points to create a precise measurement.

  • The snapping function improves accuracy between points.

Sculpting

To Sculp models, use sculpting tool, which you can adjust it's size and strength. Also you can mark faces to be protected from sculpting as sleeve areas by selecting them using any of the selection tools and marking Protect Selected Faces

Labeling

Mark your Guides and Models by labeling them. Select the labeling tool and write the text you want and adjust the extrusion length and whether you want it engraved or not. heading to the model itself you can draw the box that will contain the text with the size you want. Then click Label.

Tooth extraction

If you're planning to extract teeth and you want to do virtual extraction on the model,

·        Go to Main Tools > Tooth Removal.

·        The software will automatically segment the teeth.

·        Select the tooth you want to remove.

Click Remove—the hole will be automatically filled for a smooth result

Show/hide objects

Through all the designing process you can show and hide objects and models by selecting the Visibility Icon in front of them.

Extrusion Tool

  • Select the faces you want to extend.

  • Set the extrusion length and dimensions.

  • Generate the extension instantly.

  • Use this tool to adapt or extend model areas without complex workarounds.

Bridging Tool

  • FromAdvanced toolsselect Bridging

  • Select the areas of the model you want to connect.

  • Use the mouse to mark the bridge location.

  • Scroll to adjust and fine-tune the bridge length.

  • This tool provides precise control when filling gaps or connecting model sections.
